Welcome to the website of the Toddington Town Band. We are a local band who meet for pleasure and enjoyment of music.

We play brass instruments and have a long history of music making in Bedfordshire. For more see our band history section.

Latest News - 6 July 2008

The summer season is now in full flow with concerts and Fetes already performed to great acclaim.

On 14th June the band held a sponsored event called "Blow out Breast Cancer"; which was a 4 hour sponsored "concert" at the village market held on the Green, this was in aid of Breast cancer Awareness. The band raised over £1000 for this worthy cause, thank you to all those who sponsored members of the band or who put money in the strategically placed buckets on the day.
On Sunday 15th June the band performed a concert to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Herbert Janes Village in Leagrave. On a hot summers afternoon "an excellent concert was enjoyed by over 150 guests" this must be true as was reported in the local press.

Our schedule of events for the coming months include: -

September
Sunday 14th Afternoon Teas at Chalgrave Church.

October
Saturday 11th The Band's 21st Birthday Concert - At Chalgrave Church, 7.30pm

OK you will hate me for this one!! The bands Christmas Concert (told you!!) will take place on Wednesday 17th December in Toddington Village Hall, where we hope our Learners Band and the choir from Toddington St George Lower School will be joining us.. Please note the change of day and venue for this very popular concert.

Please see posters around the villages for further details on above concerts.

Our offer of free tuition to anyone who would like to learn a brass instrument is still open with band members available to pass on their experience on a Tuesday evening between 6.30 and 7.15pm. All beginners are assured of a warm welcome and loads of fun while learning with a group of musicians who are playing for their own enjoyment and the love of making music.

At this time the band is actively seeking proficient cornet players to join our front row (they normally play the tune). If you can play or have played in the past and would like spend an evening a week making music in a friendly atmosphere. Come along and see us on: -
